the speaker is just over a year old, but only been used for the past month. Now, what im wondering, is how could the horn blow, without taking out the fuse or the polyswitch? My only guess is a bad poly switch? I dont think it did its job. dont want to risk putting the diaphram in and then it blows again. might as well do it because I believe it had to be a part of the cause. Its testing good, but i dont want to jepordise a new diaphragm over a 3-4$ part. While im in there im going to replace the poly switch, even though I cant tell if its bad without pulling it from the board. I have opened this up and come to the conclusion via multimeter that the horn is bad. I will call peavey, but in the mean time, does anyone know the part number of the sister board or have any images so I can look at it before I start tearin it apart? The fuse that I checked was the glass fuse that is immediately behind the crossover/ signal input that screws off the back. I did not confirm that it was the driver, I just confirmed that it was the horn/hp component. My thinking is that you had a 'one time' event occur and once you figure out what that might have been, you can keep it from happening in the future.
